about us
Outreach Motto: “No one’s outside the reach of God, no not one!”
On Prison Radio Outreach, our broadcast initiative, we feature the lives of former felons and chronicle their journey from the roll called of the damned to the Lamb’s Book of life. Their stories are shocking. Their conversions are incredible. And their lives transformed forever by the power of the Holy Spirit, proving time and again that “no one’s outside the reach of God, no not one!”
Outreach Verse: “Free…’except for these chains’”
Many of the chapel services we conduct are in high security areas and are attended by inmates in leg irons, hand cuffs or assorted chains. In some maximum security facilities, new believers are escorted by officers to the baptisimal facility in full body chains, removed only at the moment of their baptism. A few of these inmates have found such freedom in Jesus they can say like Paul the Apostle, “Free…except for these chains.”
Outreach Mantra: “When you serve the least of them, you’re serving the Lord.”
“And the righteous shall answer, ‘Lord when did we visit you in prison? And the Lord shall answer, ‘When you did it to the least of them you did to me.’” But to underscore this Biblical passage, we had an episode at the end of one of the Chapel services that’s worth sharing. This verse was used at the close of a message, when we were apporached by an inmate. She said, “If Jesus isn’t here for you when you visit us, then you don’t need to feel obligated to come.” But Jesus is so present on this yard, that we would never want to miss one meeting!
Outreach Vision: “Give voice to the incarcerated Christian community.”
We have four multi-media ministry initiatives that give voice to the incacerated Christian community: The Jailhouse Journal magazine, our quarterly publication; Prison Radio Outreach, our audio/video broadcast , which airs six days a week on radio and over several Internet portals; Inmate Outreach University (IOU), our educational workshops; The POW Network, our Internet distrbution channel.
Outreach Mission: “Export the acts of the Lord among the incarcerated Christian community.”
The revival amoug the incacerated Christian community is the activity of the Holy Spirit the church has been yearning to see. He has chossen to manifest Himself among the criminal element of our society. And this is the way of the Lord. For the sick are in need of the Physician and that’s why Jesus displays His miracles among the incarcerated. He is endeared to those in such deep need and long standing unattended woundings. Prisons and jails are the new monistaries of the twenty-first century, the cloistered community of men and women spending serious time devoted to the Lord.
Outreach Goals: “Rescue unbelievers, recover prodigals & restore the incarcerated church.”
The prisons and jails are full of men and women who have never darkened the door of a church nor given God the slightest thought in their own debochery and degradation. But God uses their arrest to rescue them from themselves and give them an opportunity to see real disciplines of Christ in other inmates who were rescued as well. In our experince among the incarcerated it seems that nearly 20% are prodigals, back slidden from their heritage in the Lord. The prisons and jails are God’s big time out for prodigals as Psalm 23 proclaims, “He maketh me lie down. Their recovery, their redemption is near to the heart of God. ” Throughout the world, God is building His last days reserve army from the refuse of incarcerated. As God Himself has said, “I have kept for Myself 7,000 that have not bowed their kness to Baal nor kissed his feet.”
